Sanctuary Dogs

Here at TDYNRESCUE, we currently have 8 "sanctuary dogs".

These are dogs that for one reason or another would struggle in a regular household, so they have a forever safe home here with us. We don't put any unrealistic expectations on the dogs. They are free to do as they please and it seems to work. They're happy and that's the way we like it.

A couple have health issues and some have had an especially difficult life and are better to stay with us.

LASSIE

Lassie was one of two older dogs we removed from the local pound when we were made aware that both had been there for approximately 10 years. Lassie is now living a kennel free life here at

TDYN Rescue as one of our sanctuary dogs.

She is loving her new life.

JULIETTA

Julietta is the second of two older dogs we brought back to TDYN Rescue from a local pound due to having spent 10 years there. We wanted to allow her to have a kennel free life where she could receive more personal care and freedom. She is enjoying her time here so much!

PERCY

Percy was adopted but he struggled to settle

in the new home and was becoming extremely stressed. It was all too much for him, so he returned to us where he has stayed as one of our sanctuary dogs.
He's a settled boy now, with a good life.

WOMBLE

Womble was adopted and in her forever home for a couple of years when we were told she attacked one of the resident dogs. Her owner sent her back to us, so here she stays as one of our sanctuary dogs living a comfortable kennel free life.

JESSIE

We found Jessie in a tragic state. She had severe trauma to her head which caused both eyes to rupture resulting in her having one eye removed and leaving the other eye blind. Despite this she was adopted, however the resident dogs just wouldn't take to her so for her own wellbeing she came back to us. She has totally blossomed despite her blindness and is enjoying her sanctuary status.

FRED

Fred was adopted but went into a foster home when his family broke down. His fosterer was going to adopt him but changed her mind. He had a few health issues the UK vets struggled to sort out so he came back to us. We discovered he had severe Leish. :( He's a poorly chap despite having numerous treatments so we manage the Leish with medication & help him to live as comfortable life as he can with care and freedom.

DUSTY

Dusty gained sanctuary status after turning 14 in January 2024. We think, at her age, a move would be too much.

ALFIE

Alfie came back to us after being in his forever home for almost 5 years. He was only 4 months old when he was adopted. Our vet contacted us to say she had been instructed to put him to sleep because he'd bitten a child that he'd actually grown up with - so he came back as a sanctuary dog.
